Leslie Dean O’Neal is a seasoned family law attorney, whose practice focuses on all aspects of family law. Leslie believes in the value of the mediation process to conserve funds for both sides and avoid the emotional strain that a trial can cause. However, she recognizes that in some cases, a trial is unavoidable and believes that being diligent, assertive, and well prepared is of utmost importance when taking a case to trial.
Leslie has been named one of Georgia’s Super Lawyers Rising Stars by Atlanta Magazine for eight consecutive years. She has been named as a Top 20 under 40 Rising Star by Cobb Life Magazine and is a past recipient of the Cobb Chamber’s Next Generation Award. She is an active member of the Georgia Bar Association, Cobb County Bar Association, and the Atlanta Bar Association Family Law Division, and served as the President of the Cobb Bar Family Law Section in 2021-22. Leslie makes it a priority to serve her community in a variety of ways. She is a regular volunteer with Cobb Legal Aide, a co-chair of the Center for Family Resources charity gala, past Chairwoman for Cobb Young Professionals, a graduate of the Leadership Cobb and Honorary Commanders programs, and a past co-chair of the Red White & Blue Fundraiser for the Share Military Initiative.

Susan Heikkila is a dedicated family law attorney with over five years of experience representing individuals in divorce and other complex family law matters. Susan's practice is rooted in guiding clients through emotionally difficult transitions with clarity, compassion, and strong legal advocacy. Whether it's navigating custody disputes, property division, or domestic violence issues, Susan brings a holistic approach to every case, always focused on achieving the best possible outcome for clients.
In 2022, Susan was honored to be named a Pro Bono Star by the Atlanta Legal Aid Society for her work representing low-income survivors of domestic violence, helping them obtain critical restraining orders and protection. Susan is a member of the Charles Longstreet Weltner Family Law America Inn of Court, where family law practitioners lead the movement to elevate the practice of law by promoting the ideals of excellence and professionalism. Susan also currently serves as the Vice President of the Cobb Bar Association Family Law Section.
Susan was raised in Forsyth County and is a 2016 Magna Cum Laude graduate from Georgia College in Milledgeville, Georgia. Susan attended Georgia State University College of Law in Atlanta, Georgia, where she was a member of the Business & Law Society and became involved in government affairs at the State Capitol. Susan is an avid equestrian, competing around the region in her spare time.

Lisa A. Owen, a partner at O’Neal Heikkila Owen, brings 30 years of family law experience to clients across the state of Georgia, including but not limited to Fulton, Cobb, Cherokee, Bartow, Henry, Hall, Forsyth, DeKalb, and Gwinnett counties. She handles divorce, child custody and support, legal separation, domestic violence, and adoption matters, and has successfully resolved hundreds of cases through trials, mediations, arbitrations, and appeals.
Known for her thorough preparation and strategic approach, Lisa guides clients through emotionally challenging situations with clarity and confidence. Her work is defined by meticulous research, strong advocacy, and steady dedication.
Before entering private practice, Lisa served as a staff attorney for judges in Florida and Georgia, including U.S. Magistrate Judge Thomas B. McCoun III and Cobb County Superior Court Judges George H. Kreeger and James G. Bodiford. She studied at University College, Oxford, earned her undergraduate degree from Emory University, and graduated Cum Laude from Stetson University College of Law in 1996. She is admitted to practice in Georgia’s State and Federal Courts and before the Supreme Court of the United States. She remains active in the legal community through multiple bar associations and professional organizations.

Danielle Marotti is a dedicated family law attorney whose career reflects both breadth and focus. A native of Powder Springs, Georgia, she began her legal practice in family law before transitioning into government, real estate, and litigation work at GDCR, where she handled eminent domain, condemnation, and title insurance litigation. This experience strengthened her analytical skills and deepened her understanding of complex property and procedural issues. Danielle has since returned to her original passion—family law—bringing with her a broadened perspective and a strategic, detail‑driven approach to resolving domestic matters.

Michelle is an associate attorney whose practice is shaped by a strong work ethic, practical experience, and a commitment to serving clients with professionalism and care. Before entering the legal field as an attorney, she worked full-time as a litigation paralegal at a business and commercial litigation boutique in Midtown Atlanta, giving her a solid foundation in case management and client support.
During law school, Michelle served as a Student Attorney and Graduate Research Assistant at the Phillip C. Cook Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic, where her dedication to public service earned her the Atlanta Bar Foundation’s Paul Coverdell Tax Clinic Service Award. She also received CALI Excellence Awards in Civil Procedure and Property and was selected as a Pupil of the Charles Longstreet Weltner Family Law American Inn of Court for the 2023–2024 year.
Michelle graduated Magna Cum Laude from Georgia Gwinnett College in 2019, earned her Paralegal Certificate from the University of Georgia in 2021, and received her J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law in 2025, graduating Cum Laude. Originally from Southern California, she has also lived in Portland and Washington State. Outside of work, Michelle enjoys playing competitive tennis.

Laura Kate is the Client Relations Manager at the firm, leading client engagement and overseeing the intake process for new matters.
